Liverpool want £54m trio: Rafa means business!

Benitez has decided to go for broke and order Liverpool’s troubled owners to give him a whopping kitty for new signings, but will they give him the cash?

Rafael Benitez will risk more Anfield aggro by demanding £50million for big-name transfers.
With peace just settled after a year of bitter infighting at the club, Liverpool boss Benitez will gamble it all by asking for a new fortune.
He wants to buy Spain superstar David Villa, Valencia’s Spanish winger David Silva and Gareth Barry from Aston Villa. It could spark another civil war on Merseyside and is a huge call by Benitez, who almost lost his job last year when he spoke out against the transfer restrictions imposed on him by the club’s American owners.
The row spread throughout Anfield, leaving the manager’s ally Tom Hicks and George Gillett at each other’s throats and chief executive Rick Parry fearing for his position. (The Mirror)

The Merseyside club’s Spanish boss knows what he wants and he isn’t afraid to ask for one hell of a serious cash injection from Messrs Hicks and Gillet. Benitez has at least paved the way for many outgoing players to help fund his big bids, with Riise gone and Alonso, Crouch and others also linked with an Anfield exit. The three players mentioned in this story are worth upwards of 54m and these signings would make Liverpool one hell of a mouthwatering prospect for next season.

Do Reds fans think he will get the cash from the Americans, and do they think these three players will make the move should offers be accepted by their respective clubs?
