Arsenal in SURPRISE £2m bid: A star who can still do a good job!

This Gunners midfielder was all set to leave the Premier League but now Everton have decided that the asking price for this World Cup winner is too good to pass up!

Everton boss David Moyes is making a lastditch bid to sign Arsenal’s former Brazilian skipper Gilberto Silva – before he joins Greek giants Panathinaikos.
Moyes, on the club’s tour in Switzerland, stepped into the race after the Gunners agreed a fee of under £2million for the experienced midfielder.
Gilberto’s agents have been in Athens to tie up personal terms but Moyes contacted them and Arsenal in a frantic attempt to win the transfer chase.
Moyes, who has been frustrated in his transfer moves so far this summer, thinks Gilberto would be a perfect replacement for Lee Carsley.
Gilberto is now aware of Everton’s interest and will have to choose between a move to Merseyside or uprooting to Greece.

Whilst it’s true that on occasions last season 31 year old Gilberto looked a little off the pace, this was more down to lack of first team action than any lack of ability. Given a decent run he can surely do a great job in the Premier League. David Moyes can clearly see the value in attempting to sign the Brazilian and whilst it’s true that with the Greek side he has a shot at the Champions League (albeit after two testing qualifying rounds) Silva will surely not pass up the chance to stay in England. Do Everton fans think that Moyes can clinch this signing? And do Arsenal supporters think that their former captain still has something in the tank?
