Another Brazilian set to sign for Manchester City?

First there was Elano, who has proved to be a pretty popular signing (even if he did go missing towards the end of last season). Then there was Jo, who City fans have barely seen in action. Now it appears that Mark Hughes could be adding another boy from Brazil to the squad before the transfer window slams shut.

Setanta report that Manchester City are one of three clubs to profess an interest in Thiago Neves, a forward with a bright future ahead of him. Can they fend off Atletico Madrid and Hamburg for the Fluminese forward, who won a bronze medal at the Olympics?

His representative Leo Rabello has revealed the Brazilian would be thrilled to join Mark Hughes’ City this summer.

“Atletico Madrid, Hamburg and Manchester City are highly interested in Thiago,” Rabello told setantasports.com.

“He is very interested in playing in England; going there would be a massive opportunity for his career.

“There has been an official approach from City and we are now waiting for them to make a move.

“We hope they will do so before the transfer market is closed.”

There’s little doubt that Sparky is looking to add more players to the squad but would Neves be too much of a risk for City? Do you think they’d be better off looking for more experienced players who have plied their trade in Europe already?
