‘Liverpool are like Chelsea under Mourinho’ claims defender

One the Blues’ senior players is heaping the praise on Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s Premier League title six-pointer. Frank Lampard has already stated this week that the Reds ‘mean business’ this season after their unbeaten start, and now another Chelsea footballer can see echoes of Mourinho’s team after witnessing the Merseyside club win some games from unlikely positions.

Sporting Life reports that John Terry has been bigging up Rafael Benitez’s men after an uncharacteristically strong start to their domestic campaign. While they had a decent opening to their season last term, it’s the manner of their victories which have been impressing the England captain, and it makes a change for him to be commenting on Liverpool doing well rather than Manchester United being the most serious threat.

Terry told the Evening Standard: “One thing that has impressed me so far is they have something we had under Mourinho in that there have been a couple of games where they have not been playing well and you think that will do us and then they have come back scoring late goals.

“That is something we have to be aware of. They are showing a real determination and belief this year.”

Nevertheless, the likes of Stevie G and Carragher have stated that Pool need to stop winning matches the hard way, and you can expect them to be a lot tighter defensively at the Bridge on Sunday. Indeed, there would be nothing wrong with them bucking down and earning a 0-0 draw, despite this being a good result for the chasing pack. Are Liverpool supporters confident of getting the right result?
