Tottenham are getting ready to revitalise their attacking options this summer according to The Daily Star.

The club have identified Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke as one of their top summer targets and are preparing a £15 million bid for the player.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is hoping to negotiate a deal for the player now in the hope that Villa will accept the bid rather than risk receiving less for Benteke should they find themselves relegated from the Premier League.

Benteke has been in impressive form for the Midlands club this season, netting on 14 separate occasions and Villa would arguably already be preparing for the Championship were it not for his goals.

Tottenham also look likely to return for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.

The club were reportedly close to signing the player during the January transfer window only for negotiations with player’s club, Internacional, to break down over a transfer fee.

Tottenham are likely to fund their spending by selling either one or both of their current strikeforce.

Spurs boss Andre Vilas-Boas is ready to cut his losses on Manu Adebayor after the Togo striker has endured a disappointing debut season since joining from Manchester City last summer.

The club are also willing to consider offers for Jermain Defoe who has struggled since the turn of the year despite starting the season in blistering form.
