Arsenal are today linked with a move to capture a second La Liga striker with Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo ‘opening the door’ to a move to the Premier League according to the Daily Star.

The 27 year old forward had a fine season last term, notching up 31 goals in all competitions, and has now issued a transfer request which Sevilla may well look to accept as they continue to look to balance the books.

The La Liga side have already seen Jesus Navas move to Man City and could lose French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, with the midfielder being strongly linked with a move away from Sevilla.

Arsene Wenger may feel he could do with an extra striking option even after seemingly closing in on a deal to bring in Argentine Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid.

Negredo may feel that a high profile move would help his chances of becoming a more prominent role in Vicente del Bosque’s Spanish national team set-up.

Alvaro Negredo has scored 85 goals during his four seasons at Sevilla after two solid seasons at Almeria.

Wenger could well be looking to offload the likes of Nicklas Bendtner, Gervinho, Marouane Chamakh and Park Chu-Young to make room of further attacking reinforcements.
