West Ham boss Sam Allardyce will hope that Chelsea win the race to land one of their many prospective moves for new attacking additions as he believes a new signing in this department could help in his pursuit of youngster Romelu Lukaku according to the Daily Mirror.

Having brought in Andy Carroll on a permanent basis Allardyce has opted again pursuing Vitesse Arnhem forward Wilfried Bony having been told the Dutch club want upwards of £10m for the Ivory Coast international and as such will now look to bring in Belgian Lukaku on a season long loan deal.

Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on offering the young Blues striker the chance to prove himself in the Chelsea first team set-up but having already signed Andre Schurrle and with Demba Ba and Fernando Torres still at the club, a further striker signing could lead Lukaku to believe he will not get a foot in the first team door.

20 year old Lukaku netted 17 Premier League goals for West Brom last term and Allardyce apparently sees the former Anderlecht man as an ideal foil for Carroll though Mourinho may well not be looking to send out the starlet forward on another loan move.
