Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina will move to Rafa Benitez new club Napoli on a season long loan, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Benitez has wanted to bring a new goalkeeper to the Italian club and was interested in QPR keeper Julio Cesar but he has now settled on a player he signed when he was at Liverpool.

Reina’s future at Liverpool has been the subject of much speculation all summer, with rumours suggesting he could replace Victor Valdes at Barcelona.

Rumours grew about Reina’s place at Liverpool when the Reds signed Simon Mignolet from Sunderland, with manager Brendan Rodgers insisting that the brought the Belgian to the club to offer competition to Reina.

Either way, the Spaniard faced starting next season on the bench at Anfield but he will now agree to move to Italy with his former manager Benitez.

Reina has been a highly influential figure during his time at Anfield although his form over the past couple of seasons has been erratic.

Although Reina moves to Napoli on a season long loan, Liverpool hope that the goalkeeper will make his move to Italy permanent next summer.
