Norwich City’s impressive summer of transfer dealings appears to be set to continue after the Canaries saw a £5m bid for Celtic striker Gary Hooper accepted by the SPL side according to Sky Sports.

The 25 year old had appeared set to join QPR with Loftus Road boss Harry Redknapp discussing an imminent deal stating;

“It looks like it’s on its way to being done. Negotiations have gone well.

“He’s a finisher. He’ll score goals in the Championship; I’m absolutely certain of that.

“He’s gone to Celtic; one of the biggest clubs in the world and he’s scored goals. He’s scored goals in the Champions League.

“He’s in the last year of his contract, so it’s a good deal for everybody. It’s good for Celtic to get the kind of money they are getting and hopefully it will be a great deal for QPR.

“If he can come here and get 25 goals next season, then we will have a real chance of getting out of the division.”

It would appear that the former Scunthorpe United man is keener on an instant move to the Premier League and could well form a strong strike partnership with fellow new signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who moved to Carrow Road from Sporting Lisbon earlier this summer.

Hooper moved to Parkhead in a £2.4m deal in July 2010 and has scored 82 goals in 138 appearances, impressing in both SPL and Champions League action.

A move to Norwich City could perhaps offer Hooper a better chance of securing a first England national team cap.
