Serie A champions Juventus are keen to fight off Arsenal’s interest in young midfield star Paul Pogba, and will offer him a new bumper contract, according to talkSPORT.

The 20-year-old had an excellent first season in Italy, and looks like having the potential to develop into one of the best midfield players in the world, and manager Antonio Conte will be keen not to lose him.

The Frenchman started his career in the Premier League with Manchester United, but left the club on a free transfer last summer after failing to break into first-team under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pogba’s fine form for Juventus since then has attracted interest from England again, with both Arsenal and Manchester City being linked with him at points this summer. The Gunners were recently said to have enquired about Pogba after missing out on some of their other midfield targets, but failed in their attempts to bring the youngster to the Emirates Stadium.

Pogba looks to be very much part of Conte’s plans at Juventus, despite a strong competition for places in his side’s midfield, with other big names such as Claudio Marchisio and Arturo Vidal to contend with.
