Serie A side AC Milan are reportedly set to make a January offer for Celtic keeper Fraser Forster according to The Scotsman.

Rossoneri boss Massimiliano Allegri is said to have been impressed with the displays made by the England hopeful during Champions League matches over the past 18 months and is ready to offer £8m for the former Newcastle United keeper.

Parkhead boss Neil Lennon will fight tooth and nail to keep the rock solid custodian but having seen both Gary Hooper and Victor Wanyama leave over the summer he may not fancy his chances of persuading Forster to remain at the Glasgow club.

Forster moved to Celtic in August 2010 and has barely missed a game since, making 160 appearances for the SPL champions.

AC Milan’s current keeper, 36 year old veteran Christian Abbiati, has not impressed thus far this term with the San Siro side currently sitting in 12th place having conceded 13 goals in their opening seven Serie A fixtures.
