Arsene Wenger is ready to meet Napoli’s £12.5m price-tag as the Arsenal boss seeks to lure Swiss international Gokhan Inler to North London according to talkSPORT.

Arsenal came face to face with Inler during a recent Champions League tie and Wenger may well have been impressed enough by what he saw to step up his interest in the 29 year old, who is also being tracked by former Man City boss Roberto Mancini, who has recently taken over as manager of Turkish giants Galatasary.

Inler spent four successful seasons at Udinese before moving to the San Paolo and is a regular in Rafa Benitez’s first team set-up, helping the Naples club to an excellent start to the campaign that sees Napoli sit in second spot behind resurgent Roma.

Wenger brought in Mathieu Flamini to offer some bite to his Arsenal midfield and the French battler has not disappointed, however the former AC Milan man has had some injury issues and as such a move for Inler makes a great deal of sense as the Gunners boss seeks to fight on a number of fronts in a bid to end his side’s lengthy silverware drought.
