Spaniards hope to keep striker out of reach of Premier League.
The director of football for La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, Jose Luis Caminero, has insisted that star striker Diego Costa is not interested in making a move to the Premier League during the January transfer window as the side hope to keep a hold of him, Sky Sports reports.
The Brazilian-born Spanish international has been in tremendous form for the Rojoblancos this season, notching up 19 goals in 17 league games so far and has subsequently been linked with big money moves to both Arsenal and Chelsea.
However, Caminero believes that the in demand forward will opt to commit his future to the capital based club instead of making the move to England when the transfer re-opens next week.
He said in an interview with Marca: “Right now Costa does not think of leaving, he is contracted to Atletico.
“He has renewed with us which is important. He has shown that he wants to continue at this club.”
Costa has been linked with a move to the Premier League since the summer after his strong showing last term helped Atletico to reach the Champions League.
