The 20 year old forward has been dubbed the ‘New Sergio Aguero’ and is also being tracked by Real Madrid with the player’s agent openly discussing interest in his client.

Liverpool are ready to battle with Real Madrid to sign highly-rated Argentine striker Luciano Vietto, according to the player’s agent.

‘We know that many top clubs are following Vietto,’ said agent Jorge Cysterpiller.

‘There is a lot of competition to sign him. Liverpool we know like him and so do Real Madrid – I think also two German teams.

‘I think he could move at the end of the European season.’

Liverpool have been scouting Vietto since 2011 and Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements in the summer.

The speedy intelligent attacker has an eye for goal and has netted 15 goals in 48 appearances for Buenos Aires side Racing Club.

Given that loaned in winger Victor Moses is unlikely to be signed on a permanent basis having failed to impress, and Iago Aspas and Fabio Borini may well both be sold in the summer, there is certainly scope for bringing in further striking additions at the end of the season.
