Barcelona have earmarked a move to bring in Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to take over at the Nou Camp according to Football Direct News.

The 64 year old Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and has resisted attempts to sign a new deal and may well be tempted by the opportunity to manage Barcelona.

All is not well under Gerardo Martino, with Barcelona sitting in third spot in La Liga after what has proven a tough see both on and off the field of play for the Catalan giants.

Tax issues have raged in recent months and this has led to Sandro Rosell resigning as president of the club and Wenger may be seen as a reliable pair of hands to take over at the Barcelona helm.

After 16 years as Arsenal manager there may be a sense that this summer would be the right time to move and perhaps an FA Cup triumph would be the ideal send-off for the Gunners boss.

Wenger has experienced a great deal of success since taking over at Arsenal back in 1996, including securing three Premier League title and four FA Cup final triumphs.
