The Merseyside giants travel to Old Trafford on Sunday lunch time to take on their arch rivals in a fixture of huge importance to both sides as they go in search of a top-four finish in the Premier League come May, and with it a lucrative qualifying place in next season’s Uefa Champions League.

And the Reds’ head coach will be delighted to welcome back the two key players into the setup for the visit to the Theatre of Dreams.

Brazil international Lucas has been out of action since damaging the ligaments in his knee in the club’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League at Anfield back in January.

Meanwhile, France international Sakho injured his hamstring in Liverpool’s 2-1 loss at title rivals Chelsea back at the end of December.

However, with both players having successfully come through an Under-21 clash with West Ham United on Friday with no ill effects, they will now be included in the squad to face United.
