Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Southampton teenager Luke Shaw according to TuttoMercato.

The Stamford Bridge side are ready to fork out £21m to land the young England international who is seen by Jose Mourinho as a long term replacement for veteran Ashley Cole.

By all accounts 18 year old Shaw is ready to leave St Mary’s to move to West London where he will be the latest youthful addition made by boss Mourinho.

Sport Witness report on the growing speculation of a move for Shaw this summer, with Man United also being linked with an interest in the talented youngster.

Mourinho has primarily used Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back having frozen Cole out of first team action and has opted to use Branislav Ivanovic as his first choice right sided defender.

Shaw has matured into a very consistent performer at Southampton and has racked up 29 appearances in all competitions this term and could well be part of Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad this summer.
