Stamford Bridge side want Atletico Madrid striker.

Check in to Chelsea vs Arsenal

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is ready to use Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois as bait in his pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa according to the Daily Mail.

The 21 year old custodian is into his third season on loan at the Vicente Calderon and is valued at a whopping £35m by the West London side. However Mourinho has no intention of dropping first choice keeper Petr Cech so will instead use Courtois to tempt Diego Simeone into selling top scorer Costa.

Costa may well feel he has gone as far as he can at over-achieving Atletico and could well earn a massive pay-rise by switching to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Mourinho has grown tired of the inconsistent displays of striking trio Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba and wants to sign a prolific forward to lead his Blues attack.

Chelsea are ready to make a straight swap offer for Costa, who netted his 22nd La Liga goal last night, helping his side to maintain their genuine domestic title challenge.

Courtois moved to Chelsea in 2011 but is yet to play a single senior fixture for the Premier League side.
