Arsenal Want Ligue 1-Based Ivorian To Replace Bacary Sagna

Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger is weighing up a move for Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier at the end of the season as a possible replacement for Bacary Sagna, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The north London club are now preparing themselves for the likely departure of their experienced France international from the Emirates this summer, with the two parties having still to come to any sort of agreement regarding extending Sagna’s stay in the capital.

As a result, the Arsenal boss is now understood to be busy drawing up a wish list of alternatives for Sagna, whose contract at the club runs out at the end of June, with the name of the Ligue 1 side’s Ivory Coast international believed to be the Frenchman’s first-choice target.

The 21-year-old full back has been at Toulouse now for thee past two years after joining the club from Lens, while so far in this campaign the Ivorian has managed to register an impressive five goals and seven assists in total in his 29 matches in all competitions, all of which have arrived in the league.
