QPR striker Loic Remy looks to be nearing a long awaited move to Arsenal according to Football Direct News.

The 27 year old, who is currently enjoying a season long loan spell at Newcastle United, is said to have been spotted in a London hotel meeting with Arsenal officials.

The former Marseille man has long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and is known to be a player Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admires.

Remy has netted 13 Premier League goals in 23 appearances for the Magpies and no doubt St James’ Park manager Alan Pardew would like to make the temporary move a permanent one but an Arsenal switch could be more likely this summer.

Wenger could well do with strengthening his striking options with Olivier Giroud being overworked due in part to the injury issues suffered by both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott this season.

Remy’s form at Newcastle United is likely to lead to a spot in Didier Deschamps’ French national team squad for the 2014 World Cup finals.
