Man City are reportedly ‘set to sign’ Arsenal contract rebel Bacary Sagna according to the Daily Star.

The 31 year old Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and though the Gunners are keen to tie down the right-back to a new deal they have as yet failed to do so and this has led a number of club’s to target the Arsenal star this summer.

Sagna has apparently already turned down a £9m offer from Inter Milan and the chance to join former team-mates, and national team colleagues, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy at the Etihad Stadium may prove very tempting.

Man City will clearly also be able to offer Sagna a massive pay-rise and the full-back is apparently ‘leaning to’ a move to stay in the Premier League if he does indeed leave Arsenal.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Monaco, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are all also said to retain an interest in Sagna, who has been at Arsenal for seven years.

If Sagna does leave the Emirates Stadium then Wenger will have to consider the option of either bringing in an established replacement or trust to youth by offering the first team spot to England international Carl Jenkinson.
