Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is said to be fearful of losing playmaker Eden Hazard amid growing speculation that the 23 year old may be tempted by a move back to Ligue 1.

CaughtOffside understands that the Belgian international may be swayed by the possibility of a move to the Parc des Princes and PSG are said to be increasingly confident of securing a deal this summer, especially after recent comments attributed to Hazard suggested that his wife would could force the issue by demanding a move to the French capital.

This has led Mourinho to draw up a list of potential replacements for Hazard should the worst occur a move that is perhaps all the more relevant given the Blues manager opted to sell Juan Mata to Man United in January.

Top of that list is now thought to be Tottenham creative midfielder Christian Eriksen, who has been in excellent form in recent months and arguably the one player among seven who were signed by the north London club last summer who has consistently delivered the goods.

The £11m spent by Tottenham to sign Danish international Eriksen is beginning to seem like a real bargain having scored five goals and provided four assists in his past seven appearances.

Chelsea are ready to offer double the amount paid by Daniel Levy to Ajax last August and Mourinho is confident that when if a formal approach is made then the 22 year old would look to force the issue, not least as the Stamford Bridge side can offer him the Champions League action that he is unlikely to secure with Tottenham for next term.

Prior to his move to Tottenham Eriksen racked up 162 appearances for Ajax, securing three Eredivisie titles in the process.
