Arsenal are reportedly keen on luring unhappy German international Mario Gotze into an Allianz Arena exit this summer according to the Metro.

The £30m Bayern Munich man is frustrated at his limited role in Pep Guardiola’s first team set-up, recently talking of his irritation he has experienced in his first season at the Bavarian club, stating;

‘Of course I’m not happy,’ he said.

‘I want to win back the trust of the coach to play more.’

The 21 year old has started 20 of Bayern Munich’s 33 Bundesliga fixtures but perhaps more tellingly failed to make the starting eleven in either of his side’s encounters with Real Madrid in their recent Champions League semi-final clash which has led to a great deal of interest in the goal-scoring midfielder.

Napoli and Chelsea are both also known to be tracking the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Arsenal may well have a fair few creative talent but Arsene Wenger’s pursuit of Schalke’s Julian Draxler shows the Gunners boss is still keen to bring in goal-scoring midfielders and Gotze is one of the best in the business.

Despite his irregular role at Bayern Munich Gotze has still managed to net 13 goals and provide 11 assists in all competitions this term.
