The 22 year old is ready to ‘walk-away’ from the Bundesliga giants according to this source and that’s no huge surprise given that his first team chances have in fact taken a turn for the worse since Pepe Guardiola took over.

Last term the former FC Basel man started just ten Bundesliga starts and didn’t make it into the Bayern Munich’s starting eleven for a single Champions League encounter, this has led to the pint sized attacker making the following comments;

‘I don’t want to go through another year like this,’ he said.

‘We will see what happens, but I only want to play for a major club – the Champions League is important to me.

‘England would be an option. If I were to leave Bayern, it will be for a foreign club. But it will have to be a club challenging for the title.’

Brendan Rodgers is ready to use up £15m of his reported £60m transfer war-chest to land the impressive attacker and could well look to bump up his funds by offloading the likes of Fabio Borini, Iago Aspas and Oussama Assaidi.

The Northern Irishman may well be looking to use Shaqiri as part of a three pronged attack that would include Liverpool stars Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
