AS Monaco forward Radamel Falcao has been targeted by Liverpool as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, according to AS.

However, the Colombia star, 28, apparently has his heart set on a move to Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Falcao joined Monaco last summer from Atletico Madrid for a whooping £52m transfer fee.

He started well in France, scoring nine goals in his first 12 Ligue 1 games, but he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in January and has not played since.

The injury saw him miss this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Falcao is rumoured to be unsettled at Monaco and this has seen Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City all express an interest, but the player has dismissed the advances of the English trio.

Liverpool are worried that they may lose Suarez to Real this summer and have identified Falcao as one of the few men capable of filling the Uruguayan’s place at Anfield should he leave.

However, Falcao is unlikely to want a move to Merseyside as he has dreams of playing at the Bernabeu himself.

Falcao has an exceptional La Liga record, having scored 52 goals in 68 games for Atletico.
