Carlo Ancelotti At Odds With Real Madrid Over Future Of £40m-Rated Arsenal Target

Real boss wants key player to stay.Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is desperate to keep Argentine winger Angel Di Maria at the club this summer, despite suggestions that the club could look to offload him, Marca reports.

The 26-year-old had a superb season in 2013/14, guiding Real to glory in the Champions League and Copa del Rey with 11 goals and 26 assists in all competitions, impressing his manager along the way.

There had been some doubts over Di Maria’s future last summer, and the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are seemingly tracking him again this year as his future remains uncertain.

Although Ancelotti considers the Argentine attacker a key part of his squad, the Italian has been unable to persuade the club to offer him a new contract, and may see him sold against his will this summer.

It has previously been suggested that offers in the region of £40m could see Di Maria leave the Bernabeu, with the club keen to bring in new big-name signings such as Colombian World Cup star James Rodriguez.

Another star player in Mesut Ozil left Real for Arsenal last summer after also feeling undervalued by the Spanish giants, and it seems there is a risk of Di Maria leaving for the same reasons this year.
