Netherlands goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen was given a double insult last night – firstly being hauled off by Louis van Gaal for the penalty shoot-out against Costa Rica for Tim Krul, and then being denied a high five by his teammates as they celebrated Krul’s subsequent heroics.
Despite being the first man to run on and congratulate the Newcastle ‘keeper after he saved the crucial penalty from Michael Umana, Cillessen’s teammates didn’t seem to want to oblige his high-five request as the Dutch celebrated making it to a semi-final against Argentina.
