Reds to make fifth major summer signing.

Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy is poised to fly out to the United States to complete his transfer to Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.

Liverpool jetted of the America on Sunday for a preseason tour that will include friendlies against Roma, Olympiacos and Manchester City.

The Reds have already brought in Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic, Emre Can and Rickie Lambert this summer and Remy now looks increasingly like being big signing number five.

QPR have accepted an £8.5m bid from Liverpool for Remy and the 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Anfield club.

He is now set to join with Brendan Rodgers and co in Boston, where he will complete a medical with Liverpool officials.

Remy had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but the Gunners were unable to come up with a wage package to satisfy the player.

Liverpool’s recruitment drive is unlikely to stop when Remy arrives.

The Reds are keen to sign Croatia centre-back Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

Liverpool saw a £20m bid for Lovren rejected in June, but the 25-year-old is desperate to force through a move to Merseyside.
