Khedira could be on his way to the Premier League for nothing.

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira could finally complete his long expected move to the Premier League next summer with Arsenal and Liverpool looking to sign the German on a free transfer, according to the Daily Star.

Khedira has entered the final year of his current contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and doesn’t look likely to sign a new deal with the Spanish giants anytime soon.

Several English sides have taken a keen interest in the 27-year-old, with Chelsea and Manchester United also thought to be considering moves for the 2014 World Cup winner.

However, previous attempts from the Gunners and the Blues to land Khedira hit trouble when the Germany international demanded huge wages that match what he currently earns at Madrid.

The midfield ace has been with Los Blancos since 2010 and was signed by current manager at Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho, from Stuttgart for a fee of around £11m.

Since then Khedira has played 146 times for the club in all competitions, winning La Liga, two Copa del Reys and the Champions League during that time.

It’s this close relationship with Mourinho – the pair worked together for three years – that saw the player being linked with a move to West London, although it seems the Emirates Stadium or Anfield are now the more likely destinations.
