The Reds did originally try to bag the former Arsenal man over the summer before he eventually decided to head to Upton Park on a sea on long loan instead.

He has already made a positive impact whilst at his new club, and reports in Spain are now saying the Hammers want him permanently, though Liverpool are prepared to rival them for his signature.

It’s claimed that Brendan Rodgers will try to get Barca to recall Song in January so Liverpool can then sign him, but the club are also prepared to wait until the end of the season if needed.

Barcelona have already made it clear that he has no future with them and will look to get him off their books as soon as possible, meaning whoever is the highest bidder will likely win his services.
