Arsenal and England left-back Kieran Gibbs has teased his new teammate Danny Welbeck for sitting with the southerners rather than the northerners while on international duty since his move to the Gunners, reports the Daily Mail.

Welbeck moved from Manchester United, his boyhood club, to Arsenal for a £16m fee on the final day of the summer transfer window, and he’s settled in brilliantly – bagging a Champions League hat-trick already.

As a result of the transfer though, Welbeck now sits with his Arsenal teammates (Calum Chambers, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere) while on international duty!

“Danny’s made the switch from the northern table to the southern table at dinners and stuff,” said Gibbs, who started England’s 5-0 victory over San Marino on Thursday evening.

“He’s getting a bit of stick from the northern boys but he’s been properly welcomed to the south,” Gibbs continued.

“Everyone knows each other quite well. There aren’t too many new faces. Spirit is good.

“It’s very relaxed and there’s a feel-good factor in the dressing room. It’s fun.”

Gibbs has climbed above Manchester United’s £27m teenager Luke Shaw in the England pecking order, but is on the bench for the clash against Estonia this Sunday evening.

Welbeck though starts up top, looking to develop his already impressive relationship with team skipper Wayne Rooney.

If England pick up the expected three points, they’ll take another step towards qualifying for Euro 2016 as group winners.
