Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that Wayne Rooney’s return to the fold will not affect his team in the derby on the weekend, reports the Mirror.

The Manchester United captain is available for selection after completing a three match suspension for a red card received against West Ham last month.
However, he is still doubtful after suffering a foot injury in training. Either way, the Citizens’ manager says that his team will be playing in the same manner.
“I think Rooney is a very important player for Manchester United but I think that big teams never depend on one player. They have enough important, creative players to replace him,” said the Chilean on the players involvement.
The 61 year old may be correct as the Red Devils have been able to replace Rooney with stars such as Radamel Falcao, Juan Mata, Marouane Fellaini, and Robin Van Persie during his ban.
United travel to the Etihad on Sunday after a morale boosting draw with Chelsea last weekend. A late equalizer from Van Persie was enough to take a point from the league leaders.
