Mourinho remains in bullish mood following weekend defeat at St. James’ Park.

Chelsea’s weekend defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park may have proven that the Blues are not invincible, but manager Jose Mourinho is still confident that one look at the Premier League table proves that they are better than anyone else, report the Mail.

Mourinho felt that his team were unfortunate to lose in the North East after squandering numerous chances to take the lead before substitute Papiss Cisse struck twice in the second half to give the Magpies a famous victory and the Portuguese is not panicking after Chelsea’s first competitive defeat of the season.

Indeed, Mourinho was in particularly bullish mood in his post-match press briefing after the Newcastle defeat, after blaming the club’s ball boys at least, directing anyone who doubts the fact that his team is the best in the Premier League to take a quick glance at the league table:

“We are top of the league. Nobody has done better than us. Everyone would like to be in our position. So we are more than fine. We are better than anybody else.”

The Blues face a Champions League dead rubber tie against Sporting Lisbon at Stamford Bridge this week after confirming their progress as group winners at Schalke last time out, before they look to get back on track in the Premier League next weekend with the visit of struggling Hull City.
