The 27 year old goal machine has seemingly fallen out with Blanc with their strained relationship reaching breaking point with the former Napoli man angered by his role in the Parc des Princes attacking set-up, with Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic receiving star billing.

Cavani is regularly used in a wide role that arguably doesn’t suit him and Blanc has now opted to look for a buyer for the South American.

Arsene Wenger is in pole position to sign Cavani and though the Gunners boss is in more urgent need of a defensive signing the north London side are on a healthy financial footing and could seemingly afford to fork out the £50m needed to win the race for the Ligue 1 forward.

Though Arsenal have brought in Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck to strengthen their attack arguably Cavani would be a superior option to current first choice centre-forward Olivier Giroud.

Despite his unsettled time in the French capital Cavani has still bagged 38 goals in 65 appearances for PSG and racked up an astonishing 104 goals in three season in Naples.
