Trusted Italian source Gianluca Di Marzio has stated that a personal agreement is done, and that a move for the German international could be edging closer this January.

Podolski joined Arsenal from Cologne in the summer of 2012, but has fallen out of favour with Arsene Wenger this season after previously being a key player for the side.

Still, the arrival of Alexis Sanchez has pushed the 29-year-old down in the pecking order this season and may now have forced his exit from the club, with Inter closing in on his signature this winter.

The Italian giants have been keen to strengthen upfront after a disappointing campaign so far, with new manager Roberto Mancini looking to put his own stamp on the first-team squad at the San Siro.
