The Gunners’ Welsh superstar Aaron Ramsey has been out for a month after suffering a hamstring injury against Borussia Dortmund, while Mathieu Flamini picked up a knock over the Christmas period.

Wenger believes both will be back soon, and could even return for the Premier League clash with Stoke this weekend.

Mikel Arteta has been struggling with a persistent calf injury all season, and is likely to be out for a little longer.

“Mathieu Flamini could be back, Aaron Ramsey has a little chance. Nobody else. Mikel Arteta will be longer,” he said.

All three players missed Arsenal’s clash with Hull City in the FA Cup this past Sunday, but were unneeded in the end as the Gunners marched to a 2-0 victory.

Francis Coquelin has performed well in midfield after being recalled from loan, and despite his age Tomas Rosicky still offers plenty of energy when given the chance.

Despite the comfortable victory, Arsenal badly need their injured players to return. The squad is stretched thinly as it is, and with some vital games coming up, the North London club need to be at their best.
