Manchester City are keen on signing Barkley, their rivals Manchester United want Coleman and Sampdoria are said to be keeping tabs on Eto’o.

However, Martinez will not be considering the sale of any of those trio and has issued a hands-off warning to any club preparing a bid.

“I’m not entertaining the speculation of big sales,” the 41-year-old was quoted by the Sun.

“We are not going to sell our big assets at the club during the January window.

“So all of those stories, admirations or efforts from outside is just a waste of time.”

Barkley’s stock has greatly risen in recent times and with City desperate to boost their English quota with the likely departures of Micah Richards and Scott Sinclair, they are looking into signing the attacking midfielder.

Meanwhile the Red Devils want a new right-back with Rafael the only natural option currently in Louis van Gaal’s squad and Coleman is an attractive prospect after being named in the PFA Team of the Year last season.

Meanwhile Martinez actually spoke specifically about the future of Eto’o on Merseyside.

“We haven’t been contacted and we’ve had no conversations about that issue at all,” the Spaniard continued.

“At the moment Samuel is working really well and having a really strong influence in the day to day work.”
