The Blues seem to have targeted the Columbian in recent weeks, and a transfer has been looking more and more likely by the day. However, these comments may have put the brakes on any move. It looks like it will take the winger’s full release clause in order for the Stamford Bridge outfit to sign him. It has been rumoured that it is about £26.8 million.

“The buy-out clause is there,” Valle said when asked about the player. “We put it (buy-out clause) high in order to keep him (Cuadrado). I hope he will stay with us for a long time.”

After impressing in the World Cup, the 26-year-old has carried on his form in to the club season. He has six goals and four assists in 22 games in the current campaign, and has helped his team to sixth in Serie A. They are also in the quarter finals of the Coppa Italia and face Tottenham in the last 32 of the Europa League.
