Santon joined Inter on a season-long loan in January after falling out of favour in the North East, with the move including a clause that allowed Inter to make the deal permanent if he played ten games.
Since arriving at the San Siro Santon has hardly missed a game and become a fan favourite in the process. His tenth match came in Inter’s 1-1 draw with Cesena last weekend.
Newcastle will reportedly pocket £2.8 million for the deal, but the fans will undoubtedly be left wondering why he wasn’t given a game at St James’ Park if he was good enough for Mancini’s men…
