An investigation carried out by BBC executive Ken MacQuarrie has concluded that Clarkson physically assaulted Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon, and followed up that charge with one of verbal assault soon after.

The altercation is said to have been due to Clarkson’s unhappiness at being offered a cold platter following a day’s shoot in Newcastle, the 54 year old having wanted steak and chips.

This is the latest in a long line of controversies involving the decidedly ‘Un-PC’ presenter but it appears this may be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back.

Clarkson had appeared to have uttered a racist epithet in an outtake on the hugely successful Top Gear show and last year the stars of the show were forced to flee Argentina after the number plate of their car was suggested to have referred to the Falkands war.
