Although the Reds chiefs will no doubt have been taking the opportunity to spot some other top young talent turning out for both teams, it is believed by Sport Witness that the main focus of their attention was their own young defender Tiago Ilori.

The 22-year-old is a highly regarded prospect, but has so far been unable to break into the Liverpool first-team, spending time on loan with Ligue 1 side Bordeaux this season.

Still, Liverpool may be wondering about promoting him to the starting lineup next season, and have been keen to follow his progress during this time away from the club.

Ilori has been a regular for his country at youth level, though he is yet to win a senior call-up for Portugal.
