Chicharito has impressed in recent weeks and this has led to speculation that Carlo Ancelotti will look to make his loan move to Real Madrid a permanent one.

If the Italian does indeed wish to complete such a deal then the clock is ticking with the Metro claiming that they’ll have to fork out €20m (£14.3m) by this Thursday.

Though Hernandez does has largely played only a bit-part role he has chipped in with crucial goals, netting a winner in the Champions League quarter-final clash with Atletico Madrid and bagging a brace in Sunday night’s 4-2 win over Celta Vigo, which keeps up Real Madrid’s push for the La Liga title.

Louis van Gaal may well be ready to sell the 26 year old Mexican international and could look to use proceeds from his sale to boost his summer transfer fund pot.
