Carlos Auzqui had given them the lead in the 21st minute, and eight minutes later they doubled their lead thanks to Guido Carrillo.
The 23 year old Argentine was on hand to slot home from close range after confusion in the box following a corner. Sebastian Dominguez claimed the assist.
It means the Argentine side have just resumed the second half with a two-goal advantage. They were already the favourites to progress from this game against Santa Fe, and will now be even more confident of booking themselves a quarter final slot.
Tigres UANL play Universitario de Sucre in their last 16 second leg later tonight, with most other games’ first legs taking place tomorrow.
