Highly-rated Chelsea prospect Christian Atsu will spend the entire 2015/16 Barclays Premier League season on loan at newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth after the deal was announced by both clubs via their respective Twitter accounts.

The Ghana international has only just returned to his parent club following a stint with Everton where he struggled to make much of an impact under Roberto Martinez.

Atsu made only five league appearances for the Merseyside outfit this year and will be hoping for better luck at Dean Court next season as he will be looking to prove he can succeed in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old is one of many highly-rated youngsters at Stamford Bridge but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues since his arrival from Porto in the summer of 2013.

Immediately after his move from the Portugal he was sent out on loan to Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem and the temporary spell with the Cherries will be the third of his Chelsea career. It is beginning to look increasingly unlikely that he will make the grade under Jose Mourinho, unless he can prove to be a big hit under Eddie Howe.
