The Gibraltar stopper, who is a firefighter for his normal job, has a moment to tell his grandchildren about as he saved a penalty from Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in the ninth minute of the game.

Germany were awarded a chance to take the lead from 12 yards when defender Jonas Hector was adjudged to have been brought down in the box.

Many Gibraltar supporters would have feared the worst when Schweinsteiger, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer [via Mail Sport], stepped up to take it.

However, Perez guessed correctly to deny the German midfielder and keep the scoreline locked at 0-0.

Germany are expected to beat the international minnows quite comfortably as they look to regain second spot from Scotland in Group D for Euro 2016 qualification.
