The Lyon hotshot was in brilliant form for the Ligue 1 outfit last season as he claimed the competition’s top scorer award after bagging 27 goals in just 33 appearances.

His form has seen him linked with a summer switch to Premier League trio Arsenal [via Telegraph Sport], Chelsea [via Metro Sport] and Liverpool, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain [via talkSPORT].

However, Saha, who won two league titles with the Red Devils, feels Lacazette would be the perfect addition to the squad at Old Trafford:

“I think it’s a must United sign a striker,” the former United striker said.

“Because you have always the need for competition up front, that’s what brings excellence to every player.”

“Could Lacazette thrive at United? I think so, it’s obvious he’s done really well in France, he’s scored many, many goals because he can threaten behind, he can score from far, he’s a very clever player,” Saha added.

United have been tipped to bring in another centre-forward this summer after deciding against turning the loan spell of Radamel Falcao into a permanent one.

The Colombian striker found the back of the net just four times in the league and clearly didn’t do enough to persuade manager Louis van Gaal to extend his stay in Manchester for at least another season.

Fellow forward Robin van Persie’s future at the club is up in the air as he has been strongly linked with a move away from the club during the current transfer window as Serie A’s finest are reportedly watching developments closely.

Juventus [via SkySports] and Roma [via Mail Sport] have both been rumored to be interested in the experienced former Arsenal striker, who scored 10 league goals last season despite numerous fitness problems.

United’s search for a new striker has seen them linked with a big-money move for PSG’s Edinson Cavani and there were rumours towards the end of the season that a £50 million bid was being readied by van Gaal [via Mirror Sport].

One other transfer target who has emerged in the last few weeks is Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who enjoyed a brilliant season last year and could be the subject of a £40 million bid if reports in Independent Sport are to be believed.
