Man United close in on £63.7m transfer as Real Madrid give all clear to Sergio Ramos sale
Memphis Depay arrived at the club earlier in the summer, while the Dutch coach has already begun clearing the decks.
Nani has been confirmed as a Fenerbahce player, while Robin van Persie looks set to follow him to Istanbul. Both Fener and their fierce rivals Galatasaray have been linked with the former Arsenal hitman, although it remains to be seen whether RVP is prepared to end his stay at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid have also been linked to the hitman, although the Dutchman may prefer the prospect of a season of first-team football in Turkey, rather than a campaign on the bench at the Bernabeu.
The latest Red Devils news is that Italian international Matteo Darmian looks set to move to Manchester on a £12.7 million transfer from Torino.
Here’s how United fans and…erm…those less disposed towards the club…responded to the latest transfer news.
Let’s be honest, except you’re indeed a serial viewer of the serie A or a scout, you’ve probably only seen Darmian play for just Italy.

Darmian is as much a risk as getting Clyne. Forget the talk about having EPL experience… Torres had it. Fellaini had it. Did Herrera?
— War Eagle™ (@Das_Spiel_) July 7, 2015
When you look at what United spent on Shaw and Chelsea on Filipe Luis, Darmian at €20 million is such a bargain IMO
— David Amoyal (@DavidAmoyal) July 7, 2015
Darmian has easily been best player on Italian national team in past 12 months IMO, superb wing back who can play on both sides

Right back, left back, good guy, born to run, 1989. Matteo #Darmian would be great for Premier League, if Man United will finalize the deal

@DevilsTerrace I’ll take Coleman, haven’t seen the other bloke play.

It’s a sad old day when you’re a club as grand as @Fenerbahce getting *this* excited about Nani @caughtoffside pic.twitter.com/K6aej8F9G3

At his best Nani is a matchwinner. Creator & goalscorer, capable of beating opponents. Utd hope Depay can do likewise with more consistency

0.51 – Robin van Persie has the fourth best goals per game ratio of players with 100+ PL goals, after Henry, Shearer and Wright. Legacy.
