Manchester United star’s agent eager to speed up potential transfer to La Liga giants Real Madrid

David De Gea‘s agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly the driving force behind the goalkeeper’s desire to leave Manchester United and sign for La Liga BBVA giants Real Madrid this summer, according to Metro Sport.

The Spaniard, who has been United’s stand-out player in the last two seasons, looks set for an exit from Old Trafford before the transfer window closes next month as he was dropped from the starting XI for the opening game of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal’s decision to hand summer signing Sergio Romero a debut in between the sticks has further fuelled speculation that De Gea’s expected transfer to Los Blancos could be completed very soon as the Spaniard was not even named among the substitutes for the game against Spurs .

According to reports in Spanish media publication AS, the goalkeeper’s agent wants a deal tied up quickly and there are hopes that it could be done before United’s Champions League play-off first-leg tie against Belgian outfit Club Brugge on August 18.
