Manchester United make £25m offer for PERFECT David De Gea replacement

Manchester United have made a £25 million offer for Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak, reports the Metro.

However, the Red Devils have seen their bid rejected by the Rojiblancos, and it is unknown whether they will be attempting to sign the player again. They are likely in need of a goalkeeper after it emerged that David De Gea was so affected by rumours linking him with Real Madrid that he won’t be able to play against Tottenham on Saturday.

With this making it ever more possible that the 24-year-old is going to move to the Bernabeu, United will need a new number one. They have already signed Sergio Romero, but the Argentina international is a better replacement for back up Victor Valdes. The 33-year-old has fallen out with van Gaal after not conforming to his ‘philosophy’.

Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris and Ajax’s Jasper Cillessen have also been linked with moves to Old Trafford, so this is unlikely the last that will be heard of United’s efforts to sign a new goalkeeper. Oblak may have been their first choice though, after he impressed during Atleti’s run to the quarter finals of the Champions League last season.
