Manchester United transfer target NOT for sale, Southampton manager WARNS compatriot Louis van Gaal over Sadio Mane

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has told his opposite number and compatriot at Manchester United Louis van Gaal that Sadio Mane is not for sale this summer, Mirror Sport reports.

After seeing a deal for Pedro hijacked by Premier League rivals Chelsea earlier in the week, the United boss has reportedly switched his attentions to the Saints star in a bid to strengthen the attacking options at Old Trafford before the transfer window closes in just under two weeks.

Mane joined the South Coast outfit last summer from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg and netted a respectable 10 goals for the club in his debut season in English football.

The 23-year-old also created history as his three-goal haul in two minutes and 56 seconds against Aston Villa back in May is now the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history, eclipsing Robbie Fowler’s record which had stood for just over two decades.

That form has seen him linked with a surprise transfer to the Red Devils over the past couple of days, however, his manager Koeman has made it clear that the club will not entertain any offers for the Senegalese international:

“Nobody is for sale,” the Dutchman stressed ahead of his side’s Europa League qualification playoff first-leg tie against FC Midtjylland in Thursday night.

“No, it’s not about money. We would like to continue with these players,” Koeman added.
